Thoughts on Greenbuild 2016

Don’t wait to be something to do something.

These are the words of California’s Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom at the 2016 Greenbuild Plenary event in Los Angeles, California. Together, he argued, we can all attain success while remaining loyal to the ideas of People, Planet, and Profit. Sustainability is not only good for the environment these days; it’s strategic. Conserving water, using Eco-Friendly practices in the manufacturing process, or even simply getting up in front of a crowd and discussing the importance of how the impact on Earth’s environment, can lead to a successful business plan, as 71% of consumers would prefer to support a company with sustainability practices. The problem is they just don’t know where to find them.

Greenbuild 2016 was an amazing event! From meeting all of the different companies to hearing the different keynote speakers with their thoughts and ideas. Not to mention, listening to the incredible performance by Ambassador X and Aloe Blacc!

Meeting all of these companies that do so much for the industry today while also preserving the environment was a tremendous honor. Greenbuild’s founder and CEO Rick Fedrizzi has announced that this was his final year as the head of Greenbuild and that he is moving on to another position. We all know, however, that wherever Rick goes, he will achieve success. As a member of the Innovation & Tech Today team, it is an honor to work for a company that advocates for sustainability, innovation, tech, and STEM all in one. And we look forward to the success of new sustainable events and companies.
