A hacker has been accused of trying to contaminate a Florida city’s water supply last week. The hacker briefly increased the level of sodium hydroxide in Oldsmar’s water. The chemical, which is essentially lye, could have created a big problem if not caught quickly. CNet has more on the story.

For patients with illnesses like dementia, communicating their needs can be quite difficult. A new app, PainChek, can look at the patient through your phone’s camera and recognize signs of pain and discomfort. According to a CNN report, it’s accuracy is about 90%.
Ikea Launches Gaming Products in China
Swedish furniture dealer (and meatball extraordinaire) Ikea is getting into the gaming market. The company has dropped a line of furniture that “puts gaming first.” IKEA added chairs, desks, accessories — and a weird wooden hand.
