Remember the good old days of flip phones? You know, those indestructible pieces of mobile tech with a seemingly everlasting battery? Well, those days are gone. Nowadays, you’re lucky if your phone is at 50% before lunchtime. Probably because we use our phones as our personal radios, TVs, cameras, game consoles and, oh yeah, phones.
Compounding this problem, the old-fashioned phone charger won’t always be the solution to your dwindling battery. After all, in these primitive times, there are only so many outlets handy. Well, this inspired me to try out the ChargeHub.
As the name implies, the ChargeHub is a hub for charging. Just thought I should explain that. The device comes in a number of different styles, even allowing you to implement your own photos into the design. You can also customize the amount of USB ports for your individual ChargeHub, anywhere from three to seven. Additionally, the device comes with USB cables for each individual port.
One thing that definitely sticks out about the ChargeHub is the design. With all of its USB cables plugged in, the device has a charming octopus-like appearance. This design also allows for numerous devices to charge at once, perfect for a boardroom or party setting. Unless you’ve got seven devices to charge yourself. No judgement here.
But let’s get to the most important part of the ChargeHub: providing your phone with power. The device touts its ability to charge devices quickly with a 2.4 amp max output for every port. And, I must say, it delivers on this claim. The first time I plugged my phone in, I was (quite pleasantly) surprised to see that it was back to 100% in record time. Which could only mean one thing: time to unplug it, burn some battery life by watching some Netflix, and repeat the cycle.
From the design to the execution, I really enjoyed using the ChargeHub. In the current world of phone battery famine and overcrowded outlets, I think the ChargeHub is ideal for charging multiple devices in a quick fashion. And, as somebody that plays way too much Pokemon Go and is constantly listening to podcasts, I could definitely use the extra juice.
