The Smithers Apex WEAR Conference returns May 24-26, 2016 at the Seaport Hotel in Boston to convene the leaders in the burgeoning wearable tech industry. A full three days of programming, pre-conference workshops, tours, and presentations will allow attendees to explore the latest products, models, and designs in the fabrics, apparel, accessories, and prosthetics that will soon be commonplace.
Technology companies, wearable technology developers and manufacturers, apparel and fashion companies, supply side companies to the tech and textile industries, independent fashion designers, consultants, governmental agencies and thinkers from academia will all be present, whether as presenters, keynote speakers, or delegates themselves.
The 50-plus presentations are grouped into six distinct tracks: smart fabrics, wearable technology, consumer experience, smart clothing supply chain dynamics, enabling wearables through tech development and the business of wearables. Those in attendance will be able to hear presentations on crowdfunding, digital health, security, privacy and regulation, augmented human experience, fashion, design thinking, wearables for social change and the greater good, investing in technology, and more.
Keynote speeches include professors speaking about bionics and about wearables’ ability monitor brain health, plus industry leaders reflecting on industry changes that have occurred in the last ten years and are still to come. Pre-conference workshops and tours of Boston’s own tech scene enhance the experience even further by offering hands-on engagement. A full list of these workshops and tours, as well as the presentations, is available at the conference’s website, www.wearconferences.com.
“We’re excited to bring so much great content to Boston – from smart fabrics innovation and supply chain dynamics, wearable tech development, 3D printing, AI, health and wellness, how to make sense of all the new data, creating devices with the consumer in mind, and applications that enhance human experience and wellbeing,” said Conference Director Barbara Fowler in a press release. “It’s three incredible days planned in the epicenter of Boston’s bustling technology hub.”
