CEDIA 2017 is fast approaching, and it looks to be an unforgettable event. While we’ve already written up an article on how to prepare for the event, there was one thing we left off. You see, you’re going to need something to listen to on the way to the event, whether you’re catching a flight or just hopping in a Lyft Line and don’t feel like talking to your other passengers. (We’ve all been there.) Well, let’s take a look at the must-listen-to podcast of CEDIA this year, the CEDIA Tech Council Podcast.
Available on all the major podcast forums (Google Play, iTunes, etc.), the Tech Council Podcast is a weekly show focusing on, as you’d imagine, the best up-and-coming technology. Additionally, there’s occasionally a focus on CEDIA-related tech, meaning smart home devices often get a particular focus.
The show, which is generally hosted by a rotation of CEDIA’s own Ed Wenck, Dave Pedigo, and Walt Zerbe, definitely is on the higher end in terms of quality, between the well-crafted opening and crisp sound. As somebody that has listened to a wide variety of quality in terms of podcasts, it makes me happy to see some extra attention focused on the sound of the show.
However, one of my favorite parts of the podcast is the guests they select. Providing extra perspective on the tech world, people such as Hi-Fi+ Editor Alan Sircom and Archimedia’s Peter Aylett add some interesting extra voices to the show.
In terms of episodes I recommend before you begin your journey to San Diego, I would say you should listen to their E3 recap, the two-part “Tech as a Drug?”, and the most recent episode “Selling The Experience.” But feel free to start wherever you’d like, as you’ve got 20 episodes to choose from (with likely more to come soon.)
CEDIA’s Tech Council Podcast is available on iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, and TuneIn.
