Our magazine Innovation and Tech Today is part of a much bigger multi-media conglomerate that includes several other media outlets, including Cannabis & Tech Today and Residential Tech Today magazines.
What we lack in originality for naming our magazines, we make up for with the content inside the covers. All of our pages are full of rich and interesting advice, tips and articles created by our massive pool of talented experts.
As Father’s Day rapidly approaches, we decided to reach out to the experts who populate our content to see what they had in mind when it comes to gifts for dad.
Here’s what we came up with: a diverse set of ideas and options for you to peruse as possible gift ideas for the dad in your life.
Charles Warner – Editor in Chief of Innovative Properties Worldwide – @Chucko24
If you follow Charles for more than 18 minutes and you will see he is fiercely proud of his daughter, the Seattle Seahawks (for some reason), his brands and yes, his Tesla.
The man behind all of this innovation news has the following recommendations:
“I have to say my Tesla – especially with the price of gas. It is like cruising around in a rocket ship that is battery charged!
Always on the go from a meeting with his creative team to speaking at a tradeshow, Charles needs a good camera to capture the many “moments,” what does he recommend?
My iPhone 13 max pro has a wicked good camera.”
What is the gift that he would love to get?
“A Denon receiver and set of Definitive Technology ATMOS speakers and surround sound system for watching movies and sports. Believe it or not, I only have a soundbar and feel like I am missing out.” Check out the amazing review of both here.
Patricia Miller– Managing Editor of Cannabis and Tech Today – @_PMiller
Before we get to the weed gift idea, she is more than a one trick pony and has this idea for dads:
“I love my Backcountry Bed Duo sleeping bag from Sierra Designs. It’s built for two but would be perfect for a big & tall dad. It’s warm but has stay-cool features like a self-sealing foot vent so you can poke your toes out if you wake up sweltering. It also packs down super small and light, which means more space in the car and in your pack.”
Cannabis and Tech Today is about well, Cannabis and Tech. Here’s Patricia’s recommendation for dads who want the best of the best for his bud:
“I’m also obsessed with the Hitoki Trident. It’s a cannabis water pipe that vaporizes flower using an actual laser beam. It’s how I imagine one would smoke on the Starship Enterprise or the space station. It’s certainly one of my favorite and most recommended pieces of tech the past six months.”
Always on looking for the next trend and idea, Patricia had one more idea. It isn’t ready for this year, but will soon be available by OVRcharge.
“My dad was a fan of odd gadgetry and science, so this floating charger might have caught his eye.”
Aron Vaughan– Writer – Innovation & Tech Today
The writer at the precipice of all things amazing went old school with his top choice.
“Let’s face it: as guys, we never really grow up. We may ‘mature’ with age, but deep down we all want a LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Millennium Falcon 75192 Expert Building Kit and Starship Model, which is why it makes the perfect gift for my, and any other father this side of the Galaxy. Mine sits proudly atop my bookshelf as the centerpiece of my office.”
What’s the best thing about giving gifts to immediate family? You can always borrow them later on.
“That’s why the best Father’s day gift is one you can share as you create precious memories like the ones created while lounging in dad’s new Daiwa Supreme Hybrid Massage Chair 6D. It’s only fair I get to try it out first after traveling 250 miles to get it to him.”
It’s an innovative chair that features HybriFlex roller tracks that provide the benefits of both L-track and S-track chairs. Powerful airbags inflate and deflate in an alternating pattern around your calves and feet to relieve tension and improve circulation, while built-in grips gently hold your ankles in place. An extra-long, L-Shaped Massage Track runs from the top of your shoulders to the upper thighs, providing a custom massage tailored specifically to your back. Experience true 3D massage with SmartScan technology that maps your entire back before each massage.
Steve Higgins – Business Development – @shiggins_IPW
“My favorite tech that I own that would be great for Fathers Day. What’s better than grilling as a dad? Ultimate dad status there!”
The Weber Spirit II E-310 Black 3-Burner Liquid Propane Gas Grill is the ideal grill for entertaining a small crowd or a perfect solution to any family meal. It’s built to last with a cook box that helps prevent rusting and peeling. The low maintenance and easy-to-clean grease management system takes the hassle out of cooking.
Father’s day tech gift for my dad that I don’t have but would think my dad would enjoy?
“The Nexar Dash Cam is the next level of dash camera, from recording your rides, to security, safety and even filing an insurance claim if you are in an accident. This is something I think my dad would enjoy and I recommend to people all the time.
“The amount of accidents that he had in the last 10 years is on the rise and this could help him as a safety and security measure.”
Shane Brisson – Creative Director – All of our stuff!!
“One piece of tech that I love is my Pixel 4 Pro – talk about a superior camera. I would love to upgrade to the Pixel 6 Pro, but am waiting for a minute or 5. The fact that it ties my google life together makes adulting a lot easier as well, saving passwords, customization settings and more.”
Being a creative guy, Shane knows that there are opportunities to create something pretty much everywhere he goes. Here’s his recommendation to satisfy that creative itch:
“I love being outside and recording the ambient sounds of nature. It would be nice to build up my sound library with quality recordings to add into the mix.
“What I would really like for Father’s Day would be an awesome outdoor weather resistant microphone to record nature sounds (rain, wind, etc).”
The SHURE SM63 is at the top of his list. It’s designed for handheld use on stage and in broadcast, recording, and TV studios. The SM63L and SM63LB are ideal for remote interviews and other situations where longer microphones are desirable
Sarah Yoets – Client Relations – Innovative Properties
Watch 30 seconds of America’s Funniest Videos and eventually there will be a clip of an older adult using a VR headset and the chaos that follows. Comic moments aside, Sarah has a thoughtful reason behind her gift for her dad.
“My father would never admit it, but I can imagine a great present would be a dang break from the craziness I have provided for him for the past 29 years, along with my other 3 siblings. My present of choice is the Meta Quest 2 advanced all-in-one VR system virtual reality headset so I can send him on as many “getaways” as needed. I’d prefer to send him a private jet, but for now, this is a good second choice.”
David Wallach – Writer of stuff – @DJWallach77
My stock answer to my kids is “a hug and a kiss,” but you know, how fun is it to unwrap a hug and a kiss?
Being fortunate enough to be able to test and review plenty of innovative products, the thing I am obsessed with at the moment is the Super73 R ebike. Yes, all of the things about green and gas prices and blah. Covers all those bases — and it has an insanely powerful battery.
Beyond that, this bad boy — and yes, mine is a boy — is insane.
Fast, durable and good looking, the true test of a product to me is how much I want to use it when I am not using it and I am constantly looking for a reason to get on this and ride. Pedal assist or berserk mode, this bike is the gift I would give to everyone in my family if I actually made money writing.
Being outdoors is my favorite thing to be. That being said, when it’s time to rest and relax, another product that my entire family uses daily is the Normatec Legs 3 dynamic air compression system to help us recover and get back at it.
The Normatec 3 for legs uses dynamic air compression to create a restorative massage that helps you feel refreshed faster.
Seven levels of compression and company’s patented Pulse technology deliver precise treatment to 5 overlapping zones with ZoneBoost™ by using biomimicry to replicate the natural muscle pumps and one way valves of the legs. While testing them at a recent dinner party, a test subject who was complaining about sore legs slipped them on fell fast asleep.
The gift that I give as a present several times a year as well as use every day is the Squatty Potty, one of the most innovative and useful gifts of the modern era. Ranging in the $30 range, this simple product makes your private time productive, easy and painless.
Finally, from the man at the center of all of this:
Corey Noles – Managing Editor – Innovation and Tech Today, and the guy who lets me write this stuff.
For a guy who gets to read about, test, write and review the most interesting products of our age, for Corey to have a single favorite piece of tech is so tricky. He shares, “On one hand, I want to say my phone. That little device holds every song, every book, every movie ever made — like how do you beat that?
“There’s so much more, in every phase of our lives it can be too much at times, so I took a new approach. I recently invested in a brand new piece of old tech that has rapidly become my favorite device in the house. I bought a turntable. So much of our world is centered around the ability to multi-task, that I’m finding I really enjoy shutting it all down except that turntable. The Audio-Technica AT-LP120XBT, is my favorite piece of tech in my house.
“Over the years, music has changed from something we do, to something we do while we’re doing other things (driving the car, doing laundry, cooking, exercising). I’ve changed that in my life. After work, I go pour a glass of bourbon, put on a record, sit on the couch and just listen. I read liner notes or just sit with my eyes closed and decompress. When you wear a lot of hats during the day, it’s nice to just have that time to sit, chill and listen. So do your pops a favor and snag him a turntable. He needs it more than he knows.
