Hi, my name is Adam with Innovation & Tech Today. Welcome to Gadget Gauntlet. We’re here reviewing the Abode Home Security Essential Starter Kit.
So the Abode is a sleek, easy to install, professional grade solution without the hassles of conventional security systems. Let’s dive in.
Okay, so the starter kit includes everything you need to get it up and running for only $229. It comes with one gateway, one mini door and window sensor, one motion sensor, and one remote key fob.
If you’re looking to have a fully automated home, then this is the product for you. The Abode gives your home or apartment a major upgrade by connecting to your lights, locks, thermostats, garage door openers, and many other types of devices to allow you to automate and control them with ease.
The gateway has a built in siren, battery backup, and also the hub includes capabilities to connect to your Amazon Echo, allowing you to control your Abode system with voice commands.
Also, it allows connection with smart water sensors for floods, garage door openers so when you drive down the street your garage door can open automatically, some smoke and fire smart devices that can alert you if there’s a fire when you’re away, and, of course, the smart kit comes with door and window monitors for open and close activity. It’s also comes with a remote key fob which allows for easy arm and disarm capabilities, and the free mobile app, which allows you to access and monitor your system from anywhere.
Each of the sensors then pairs with your Abode gateway system with secure, wireless technology. What I really find appealing about this item is there are no strings attached. The Abode created this product with the basic self monitoring idea in mind. The free app and the starter kit lets you monitor your home and apartment with ease.
There’s upgradable packages that allow for cellular backup connection, a monthly plan for 24/7 professional monitoring if you want it. And, of course, other door and window sensors, indoor/outdoor cameras, lights, and other cool gadgets.
Overall, I can see myself using this innovative smart home security product. Who doesn’t want to have peace of mind that your home or apartment is safe? The price is fair, and being connected with all your other smart devices allows total remote control over all your tech needs.
