How Relode is Disrupting Healthcare Recruiting With P2P Platform

Despite a market size of $154 billion dollars (2019), the recruiting industry in the United States remains firmly stuck in the past, relying on outdated, expensive methods. This helps explain why companies looking to fill rolls often have to shell out thousands of dollars to recruiters and it still takes an average of 36 days to fill an open position.

In hot industries, like healthcare, it can take even longer and cost even more to fill a roll. Relode is looking to disrupt the industry with an innovative crowdsourcing platform. If you sign onto Relode, you can not only find open healthcare positions, but you can refer people who you think would be a great fit. And if your referral gets hired you could receive a referral  reward of up to $15,000.

As the old saying goes, “it’s not about what you know, it’s about who you know.” Historically, many jobs are filled through personal referrals. Relode, however, is shaking up the industry by turning that concept into a peer-to-peer crowdsourcing platform.

Arguably, Relode’s biggest innovation isn’t the tech platform itself but instead how it empowers people and how they use it. If you think about many of the best and most popular tech platforms, they enable people and companies. Uber, for example, allows anyone to become a taxi driver. Facebook, meanwhile, makes it easy for anyone to maintain an online presence.

With Relode, every doctor, nurse, and dentist can become a recruiter. Even those people who are looking for jobs can become recruiters and can recruit themselves.

With the medical industry rapidly expanding as the population ages, healthcare facilities are going to constantly need to expand their staff or replace people who left. At any given time, there are millions of dollars worth of commission fees up for grabs on Relode. No surprise then that the platform is growing so quickly. The site currently has 650 jobs listed and the number is steadily climbing.

For now, Relode remains focused specifically on healthcare. This means doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners, and the like. Given how effective the model has proven to be, however, don’t be surprised if the company expands. Or if other recruiting firms stake their own claim with a similar model.

Still, healthcare is the perfect industry for such an app. Many of the best businesses focus on specific niches because they offer the best opportunities. Doctors, nurses, and the like often skip general websites like Monster. Traditionally, many jobs in the healthcare industry have been filled by referrals anyways. And the healthcare industry is small, at least in the sense that practitioners often know a lot of other practitioners.

In many ways, Relode’s most interesting proposition is its sound business model. With nurses, doctors, and everyone else working long hours every week, it can be hard for practitioners to find new jobs or recommend friends. This is where Relode solves a pain: they make the whole recruiting process frictionless, and they monetize the process enough to entice even high income doctors.

Relode also offers a win-win-win for everyone involved. Anyone making a referral gets paid. Anyone looking for a new job can find one. And Relode itself can generate a profit along the way. Win-win situations are supposed to be how every company works. Solve a problem, get compensated. Still, that’s easier said than done.

Relode manages to accomplish all of the above and is disrupting an industry that has, quite frankly, become ossified.
