Jeremy Renner’s New Disney+ Show, Rennervations, Gives Back to Communities Around the World

Two time Academy Award nominee, Jeremy Renner, is famous for his iconic roles in blockbuster films like The Avengers and The Hurt Locker. But lesser known is that he’s also a passionate philanthropist. His new Disney+ show, Rennervations, showcases his passion for giving back to communities as he travels around the world, reimagining unique purpose-built vehicles to meet a community’s needs.

“I’ve been on this journey for many years and I started in my community by building vehicles for people in

need. But a few years ago I thought, how can I plus this up and create a bigger impact on a whole community – and that’s what this show does.” said Renner. “This is one of my biggest passions and it’s a driving force in my recovery, and I can’t wait for the world to see it.”

In each episode of Rennervations, Renner travels to a different community and teams up with design and fabrication experts and local nonprofits to transform a decommissioned government vehicle into a “mind-blowing creation” that will serve the community in a meaningful way. For example, in one episode, Renner and his team convert an old city bus into a mobile dance studio for a rural community in Mexico. In another episode, they repurpose a delivery truck into a mobile water treatment facility that can travel to local communities in India to filter groundwater rather than the communities trucking in clean water.

Giving Back

Renner’s goal with Rennervations is to inspire others to give back to their communities. “I want to show people that they can make a difference,” he says. “No matter how big or small, every act of kindness counts.”

In addition to inspiring others to give back, Rennervations also provides a platform for Renner to share his love of construction and fabrication. “I’m a big fan of the highly creative fabricator culture that exists across the globe,” he says. “I love seeing what people can do with their hands.”

Renner hopes that Rennervations will encourage viewers to get creative and use their skills to make a difference in the world. “We all have something to offer,” he says. “Let’s use our talents to make the world a better place.”

The show is produced by Boardwalk Pictures, the same enterprise that produces The Amazing Race. Renner’s best friend and business partner, Rory Millikin, helped develop the project and serves as executive producer and co-star. You can listen to my interview with Millikin here:

Rennervations is a heartwarming and inspiring show showcasing the power of giving back. It’s a must-watch for anyone who loves to see good people doing great things. It premieres on Disney+ on Wednesday, April 12th.
