EV Makers Spend Big For Super Bowl Ads

GM, Dodge, Jeep & Kia ran high-dollar 60-second commercials for Super Bowl 57 that revealed very little information on their models. But there were some yuks, so here they are:

Electric Boogie – Jeep 4xe

For the big game, Jeep offered wild game, big and small, including elephants, a grizzly, dolphins and meerkats getting their freak on to a fresh take on the classic wedding reception jam. The ad featured a Jeep-branded charging station, which they intend to locate at off-road trailheads throughout the U.S.

Premature Electrification – Dodge Ram 1500 Rev

Apparently addressing the most common doubt about EVs, former Daily Show correspondent Jason Jones offers reassurance to sufferers of range anxiety. The spot could just as easily be referring to the reality that the 1500 Rev isn’t yet in showrooms.

Binky Dad – Kia Telluride X-Pro AWD

Kia features pop as he overcomes obstacles to retrieve his baby girl’s forgotten binky in his trusty Telluride X-Pro. In the ad, the epic journey goes viral, which fits neatly into Kia’s social media campaign that directs viewers to three alternate endings on Tik Tok.

Why Not an EV? – GM and Netflix

Will Ferrell teams up with General Motors and Netflix to pitch for wider acceptance of EVs. He adopts personas from Netflix series, including Stranger Things, Brigerton, and Army of the Dead while featuring GM’s extensive EV offerings.
