Buyer’s guide: The Top 50 Most Innovative Products

Announcing Our CEDIA Editor’s Choice Awards 2017 Winners

Now that CEDIA 2017 has officially wrapped up, it’s time to take a look at the best products shown off throughout the event. It definitely wasn’t easy to narrow down the list, with over 500 exhibitors present at the event. From the best tech in entertainment to the overall most innovative product, let’s take a look at the technology that truly shined at CEDIA 2017.

Best Smart Home Device: Control Envy

With the internet of things in a state of constant growth, it can look a bit complicated to the casual user. In addition to the often daunting number of different smart building components to control, there is a need for proper resources available for users. That’s where Control Envy comes in. Using their specialized and customizable system, Control Envy users can unleash the power of the IoT in a quick, secure way.

Best Entertainment System: Modulus

Modulus once again wowed our crew at CEDIA 2017 with their MX1, a device that promises to be the ultimate entertainment hub. The device offers terabytes, TERABYTES, of storage capacity and the ability to record and archive streams so you can build your media library with ease on all your favorite platforms. It may seem costly, but, since it’s about six items in one, it’ll help dispel clutter.

Best Mobile Wall Mount: Mantel Mount

If you’ve ever attended this IoT show, you know that there’s an abundance, if not an overabundance, of wall mounts. Despite this competition, the sheer ease of use and performance of the mounts by Mantel Mount blew us away. Anyone looking to take their entertainment mobility to the next level should check them out.

Best Home Audio System: Bang & Olufsen

Bang & Olufsen may be our winner for the “Best Home Audio System,” but they do much more than provide quality audio to your living room. The company offers your entire entertainment setup, from your television to speakers. At CEDIA 2017, Bang & Olufsen unveiled the BeoLab 50, which combines an intuitive design with crisp-sounding audio.

Best Security System: CUJO Smart Firewall

Staying safe online is more vital than ever, with cybersecurity threats growing the past few years. Thankfully, CUJO’s Smart Firewall can help offset the many online threats. In addition to adding protection to your smart home and devices, the Smart Firewall can protect your children online, controlling what they view and ensuring safe surfing. Additionally, its charming design will definitely turn some heads.

Best Projection System: Vutec Corporation

The Stiletto by Vutec is not your typical projector screen. Boasting “the thinnest visible bezel/frame on the market today” (with a 1/16” aluminum edge), the Stiletto provides a viewing experience of an 8K TV, but with all of the added benefits that come from using a projector.

The Fun and Function Award: Séura

A device suitable for Tony Stark, Séura‘s SMART Mirror is as mesmerizing as it is entertaining. Make your morning more efficient by watching the news as you brush your teeth, or revamp your old entertainment system with an antique mirror that can also project your favorite show. With SMART mirrors made for every room from the bathroom to the living room, Séura will launch your house into the future.

Best Outdoor Device: Séura

Sometimes it’s difficult to decide between enjoying the outdoors and relaxing on the couch. Now, with Séura’s Outdoor TV, you can have the best of both worlds. Whether you’re enjoying your shows in the sun or shade, Séura has you covered with 4K UHD picture that can withstand all weather conditions.

Most Innovative Product: Infrared Resources: HDMI Through a Power Line

Infared Resources is the official winner of our CEDIA Editor’s Choice 2017 Most Innovative Product for good reason. With the showing of the HDMI + Over Power Line, the company gave us a glimpse of what may be the future of internet-free connected technology. Because the device allows for an HDMI connection through a power line, its AES connection adds extra cybersecurity and convenience.
