Electronics Fairs Open in Hong Kong in October

Featuring Innovative Global Products, Solutions and Parts

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will host two prominent exhibitions in Hong Kong from 13-16 October — Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) (EFAE) and electronicAsia (eAsia), which is co-organized with MMI Asia Pte Ltd.

Both events will take place from 13 to 16 October 2024, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, showcasing the latest smart products, electronic components, and innovative solutions from some 3,200 international exhibitors.

For over 40 years, the EFAE has served as an effective platform for exhibitors worldwide to promote their latest products and innovative ideas, while also providing a one-stop sourcing platform for global buyers.

The exhibition will cover household electronic appliances, audiovisual equipment, consumer electronics needed for personal and office use, as well as the latest technological solutions. The highlighted zones include:

  • Hall of Fame: A collection of electronic products from well-known brands around the world.
  • Tech Hall: Showcasing cutting-edge technology products, including inventions utilizing 3D printing, IoT, robotics, and augmented reality, as well as solutions that address pain points in various life scenarios, such as smart mobility.
  • Startup Zone: Featuring promising startups.

Keeping up with emerging technological trends and societal needs, the fair will showcase products and technologies across several notable areas, including:

  • Smart Mobility: Introducing technologies for converting vintage petrol cars into electric vehicles, advanced driver-assistance systems, fast chargers for electric vehicles, etc.
  • Digital Entertainment: Showcasing computer products and devices favored by gaming enthusiasts, along with a newly added “Digital Entertainment Experience Zone” where attendees can try out digital entertainment products using virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies.
  • Silver Economy: Bringing various fitness and health technology products, many of which are specifically designed to meet the needs of the elderly.

The eAsia will cover various electronic components, parts, and related solutions.

During the two exhibitions, forums, presentations, and other events will be held, inviting experts from Hong Kong and abroad to share insights and provide valuable networking opportunities for industry professionals. This includes the “Symposium on Innovation & Technology,” which will explore the applications of digital twins, and the “Hong Kong Electronic Forum,” which will discuss microelectronics, artificial intelligence, and open-source ecosystems.

At other events, including the Investment Matchmaking, Hong Kong Value Creation for Technology: Pitching Competition, Meet the Mentors, and Startup Smart Launch, start-ups will promote innovative ideas, invite support from investors, and seek advice from experts on business development.

In 2023, the EFAE and eAsia attracted over 60,000 industry buyers from 146 countries and regions, coming to source the latest smart electronic products and solutions.
