Robot Self Portrait NFT Sells for $700k

A video of Andrea Bonaceto showing her portrait of Sophia the Robot morphing into Sophia’s version of the same artwork has sold for $700,000. With NFTs selling at insane rates, this is yet another piece of art to tack onto the list. The video, which IS interesting, was won at auction Thursday after a bidding war from two individuals raised the price from $10,000 to $688,000 at the closing gavel.

Parler Claims it Informed FBI of Violent Content Prior to Capitol Attack

Embattled social media platform Parler announced that it shared violent information with the FBI more than 50 times in the weeks leading up to the Jan. 16, 2021, U.S. Capitol Building riot. The company said it was alerting them to potential violence at the Capitol based on numerous calls for exactly that. One such threat claimed then-President Donald Trump needing them to cause chaos so he could enforce the Insurrection Act.

Next Round of Free PS4 and PS5 Games Are Now Available

As part of Sony’s “Play at Home” initiative, the company has released another batch of free games. Until April 22, users can download ABZÛ, Enter the Gungeon, Rez Infinite, Subnautica, Astro Bot Rescue MissionMossThumper, and Paper Beast. The initiative runs through June and will feature additional titles as time goes on.

Mac OS X Turned 20 Yesterday

Apple’s most famed operating system (and among the longest running) Apple OS X, officially launched 20 years ago yesterday. While pretty buggy in the beginning, the OS eventually became known as one of the most stable operating systems on the market. The software eventually led to the development of Apple’s iOS as well, another OS that left a lasting mark on the world.
