The Innovation & Tech Today staff is covering CES 2017 all week and we’re ready to celebrate 50 years of evolving technology. Even though it’s only the first media day, we’ve already seen some technology that could change the way we look at everything from portable speakers to connecting our homes. Here are a few highlights from the first media day at CES:
Digitsole – Connected shoes are the future of footwear, and they sure are impressive. Utilizing bluetooth technology, the Digitsole smart footwear can help measure everything from how far you’ve walked to how many calories you’ve burned. And for those worried about cold weather throwing off their jogging routine, Digitsole has you covered with heated insoles at the simple tap of a button.
Wireless speakers have improved greatly over the past few years, and the LEMON California Roll is a perfect example. Crowdfunded on Kickstarter, these speakers look to not only impress in terms of sound quality, but also sustainability. The California Roll is the the first of its kind: a solar powered speaker that combines voice control and 3D sounds. Waterproof, shockproof, and featuring a variety of different styles, this sustainable speaker combines fashion, function, and renewable energy.
Developed by Avatar Mind, iPal is one of the most advanced technologies showcased at CES that is primarily meant for children. Featuring the ability to understand languages for children in the 4-8 age range, iPal can not only converse, but also learn and remember information on your child’s interests. Additionally, iPal can sense a number of different emotions, making it able to respond accordingly to your child’s needs.
Stringify – The future is all about living in a connected world, and nobody knows that better than the people at Stringify. The app, which is available for both Android and iOS devices, allows you to organize different “Things” in order to connect to your car and find the best routes, control aspects of your home such as heating and security, stay on top of your schedule, connect to your wearable devices, and much, much more. Additionally, Stringify gives you the ability to combine different apps and devices to create unique “Flows”.
With these major highlights and many more to come, CES 2017 looks to be one of the most exciting events in its 50 year history. Don’t forget to share your CES memories with the hashtag #MyCES50 to be entered to win awesome prizes!
