Footage allegedly filmed at an undisclosed factory in China has gone viral, showing a robot seemingly “lashing out” at workers in a violent display.

The security camera video captures a robot, resembling a Unitree H1, initially motionless as it hangs from a crane-like structure.

In the video, two men can be seen talking nearby. Without warning, the robot begins swinging its limbs wildly, causing the men to scramble to avoid it. During its outburst, it appears to knock over a computer tech monitor and several other objects.

The incident, which appears to show a robot “attacking” two workers, has sparked widespread attention. At one point, one of the men grabs hold of the crane from which the robot is suspended in an effort to stop its rampage.

FDA Announces Immediate Rollout of AI

On Thursday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) revealed that it will start implementing artificial intelligence across all of its centers right away, with plans for full integration by June 30. This move follows the completion of a successful pilot program focused on generative AI tools designed specifically to assist the agency’s scientific reviewers in streamlining their work. The FDA’s decision marks a significant step in leveraging cutting-edge AI technology to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the regulatory review process.

Nintendo Forecasts Switch 2 Sales

Nintendo announced Thursday that it expects to sell 15 million units of its upcoming Switch 2 console by March 2026, marking the first sales forecast since revealing the successor to the popular Switch, set to launch in June.

The company also reported its fiscal fourth-quarter results, showing a revenue of 208.7 billion yen ($1.45 billion), below the expected 216.16 billion yen, and a net profit of 41.6 billion yen, exceeding the forecasted 33.91 billion yen. Revenue fell 24.7% year-over-year, with profit down nearly 50%, as fans delayed purchases in anticipation of the new console.

Amazon Unveils New Warehouse Robot

Amazon has introduced a new warehouse robot with a sense of touch, enabling it to perform tasks once reserved for humans. The robot, named Vulcan, was unveiled Wednesday at a tech event in Germany.

This advanced gripper allows Vulcan to handle 75% of the 1 million unique items in the Spokane warehouse. While Amazon has used other robotic arms in its warehouses since 2021, those rely on cameras for detection and suction for grasping, which limits the types of objects they can manage. Vulcan, however, is capable of operating for up to 20 hours a day, according to Aaron Parness, the head of the Amazon Robotics team that developed the robot.

FAA Grants SpaceX New Approval

SpaceX has received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to launch and land its massive Starship rockets and Super Heavy boosters up to 25 times annually from the tech company’s Starbase spaceport in Texas.

Previously, SpaceX was limited to five launches per year from the Texas Gulf Coast site. The company had submitted its request to increase its launch cadence during the Biden administration, but the final environmental assessment was only completed and announced on Tuesday.
