Imgurian Promotes App That May Boost Mood

Today is World Metal Health Day and to acknowledge this day, Imgurian Brrrrrrrp decided to share their team’s app with the Imgur community. Exploding out of the pit known as Usersub and hitting the front page, the Mood Mission team describes their app as a means to “…overcome low moods and anxiety by discovering new and better ways of coping.”

Following a step-by-step process, the app initially has the user identify and log how he is feeling. The app will then provide activities that can help the user feel better. Each activity is tailored to the user and needs, and is derived from over 200 evidence-based, mental health strategies. After performing the activity, the user then rates how he/she is feeling again. This allows the app to tailor future activities to the user’s needs. From there, the user can earn rewards and view a log of all completed Missions and support options.

So far, the app has been greeted by the Imgur community with positive comments and upvotes, which have, of course, aided in the post hitting the “Most Viral” page, or front page, of the image sharing website. Those who can download the app have already submitted reviews and the app is currently, according to the developer website, being tested for efficiency against similar mood enhancing apps. The app team hopes that Mood Mission can be used by mental health providers to aid their clients and patients.

The app is currently only available in Australia for the iPhone. However, the team hopes to have an international release and have the app supported by Android as well.
