Exclusive: Kinsey Fabrizio’s Vision for CES as New CTA President

Kinsey Fabrizio, the newly appointed president of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), presided over her first CES in 2025. She took the helm in March 2024, succeeding Gary Shapiro. While Kinsey might be a fresh face to some, she’s long been a part of the CTA family, having joined the organization in 2008 after serving as a senior project coordinator at Smithbucklin, a prominent association management firm. Driven by a passion for the association world, Kinsey has played a pivotal role at CTA throughout the years.

Innovation & Tech Today had the chance to speak with Kinsey about her priorities for the organization moving forward, her vision for how CTA can help the tech industry navigate rapidly changing trends like AI, gaming, and digital health, and much more.

Innovation & Tech Today: What are your top priorities for CTA in the coming years? What areas do you see as key to shaping the future of the association?

Kinsey Fabrizio: At the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), we help innovative businesses of all sizes thrive, grow, and create world-changing innovations that improve the lives of millions of people around the globe. It’s an exciting time to be working in tech, and the advances we just saw at CES 2025 show that so much is possible!

CTA is best known as the owner and producer of CES, the world’s most powerful tech event. We know the show makes a huge impact on the thousands of businesses that exhibit, as well as the over 140,000 people who attend, so that’s a big area of focus. Even though our 2025 show just wrapped a few weeks ago, we are already looking ahead to CES 2026 (Jan. 6-9) and future shows and thinking about how we can make next year’s show even better.

Of course, CTA is much more than just CES. Our association also produces original research to inform industry decision-making, works with industry and government partners to create industry standards for everything from heart rate monitoring to closed captioning to HDTV, and advocates for policies that can unleash innovation and keep American businesses competitive globally. With a new administration and Congress in Washington, we’ve recently launched a new CTA Innovation Agenda for 2025 and look forward to partnering with leaders across government on priority areas like AI, autonomous vehicles, cybersecurity, digital health, privacy, trade, and more.

I&T Today: What’s your vision for how CTA can support the tech industry in adapting to rapidly evolving trends like AI, gaming, and digital health?

Fabrizio: The future belongs to those who can adapt, and CTA helps lead the way! To borrow a line from CTA CEO and Vice Chair Gary Shapiro, we have to Pivot or Die! We bring together the whole industry—from global brands to startups and thought leaders in industry and government—to collaborate, share insights, and develop best practices that drive progress.

CTA is home to member-focused working groups on the topics that drive policy forward, including AI, content and entertainment, gaming, health, video, and more. These allow our members to help set CTA’s research agenda and participate in promotional programs and industry training.

Members also serve as a driving force behind our standard-setting work, with more than 1,100 active participants working to create the blueprints behind many of the tech products Americans use and love. Participants in our standards committees have a unique opportunity to not just respond and adapt to industry trends, but to shape them! I think we have an especially important role to play in health care, supporting the tech innovation that improves millions of lives. Since 2017, CTA has published more than two dozen health-focused standards, covering AI in health, sleep tracking, over-the-counter hearing aids, and more.

I&T Today: What new trends or technologies stood out to you the most?

Fabrizio: AI was a huge trend at CES 2025! We saw innovations transforming devices into personalized platforms, from TVs and smart home tech to wearables and cars, all working together to make products and our world more accessible. CES 2025 also showcased advances in physical AI, like autonomous tech for robotaxis and trucking. Another key trend at this year’s show was robotics, including humanoid robots, in industries like hospitality and logistics.

At CES, we saw industrial metaverse tech and digital twins powered by AI boosting productivity, health care, and sustainability. Smart glasses also made waves, offering AI assistants and XR capabilities for both consumers and “non-traditional” tech companies like Delta Air Lines. CES brings these breakthroughs to life, sparking in-person connections that drive innovation and shape the future—that’s what makes it so special.

I&T Today: How did the introduction of the CES Creator Space impact the event this year? Do you think content creators will play an even bigger role in the future of CES?

Fabrizio: Content creators are a hugely important part of our media cohort at the show, and we were thrilled to have more than 6,000 media join us at CES 2025 from around the globe. The CES Creator Space served as a central hub for our storytellers at the show, giving them a dedicated space to collaborate, create, and learn. Located in the bustling Central Hall Lobby, this space recognized the growing influence of content creators as a way to bring the show to life for millions of people who ‘tune in’ to CES content, even if they can’t join us in Las Vegas.

I&T Today: Gaming technology has always been a big part of CES. What were some of the most exciting gaming innovations showcased this year?

Fabrizio: At CES 2025, we saw incredible advances in gaming technology! Gaming isn’t just about consoles and PCs—it’s now a platform for shared experiences, emotional connections, and cultural exchange. With mobile gaming leading the charge, and innovations in XR/haptics devices enhancing immersion, CES showed off a new era of interactive entertainment. One of the most exciting developments was the role of generative AI in game development, which NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang discussed on the keynote stage. Innovations from NVIDIA and dozens of other companies at CES are revolutionizing everything from hardware upgrades to graphics rendering, and game engines are playing a key part in shaping the industrial metaverse.

I&T Today: The Las Vegas Sphere was a huge part of CES 2025. How do you think this new venue helped shape the event and bring more attention to the show?

Fabrizio: We were thrilled to debut Sphere as a keynote location for the first time in CES history! As a state-of-the-art immersive venue, it provided a unique backdrop for the Delta Air Lines keynote as CEO Ed Bastian and a star-studded lineup of special guests celebrated the company’s 100th anniversary. The keynote showed how cutting-edge technology can transform live events, creating deeper engagement and setting a new standard for how we present visionary ideas. And while there’s no way to fully describe the Sphere experience without being there in person, the media certainly tried! We saw a lot of great media coverage of Delta’s keynote during the show and in the days since it wrapped.

I&T Today: What trends from CES 2025 do you think will shape the tech industry the most in 2025 and beyond?

Fabrizio: CES 2025 made it clear that the future is smarter, faster, and more sustainable than ever. AI is revolutionizing industries, making technology more adaptive and efficient. Quantum breakthroughs are unlocking new frontiers in security, computing, and AI-driven innovation. Mobility is being redefined with cutting-edge EVs, autonomous systems, and even advancements in air and marine travel. The energy transition is accelerating, with game-changing developments in battery storage, green hydrogen, and next-gen nuclear power. This tech is incredible! It’s reshaping our world now and redefining what’s possible.
